We Do Wood

We Do Wood is a Danish furniture company established in 2006 by the two furniture makers and designers Henrik Thygesen and Sebastian Jørgensen.

The underlying philosophy in everything they do is to design and make furniture responsibly and sustainably.

Their considered choice of material is moso bamboo as it is one of the most sustainable natural resources in the world and is the only 'woody' plant that can keep up with the rate of human consumption and deforestation.

Working with certified plantations means they can guarantee that their bamboo is grown and processed without any chemicals, pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers.

"Sustainabilty is quintessential to our choice of materials and techniques.  We simply place an honour in creating the most environmentally friendly furniture possible..Good furniture must quite simply stand there and invite you to use it".

This is the voice of Sebastian Jørgensen, the designer behind We Do Wood. As a trained furniture and cabinetmaker, Sebastian is an experienced craftsman. However, Sebastian’s understanding of design originally comes from the world of art, which creates a different approach than most. Sebastian’s design process is a bit like painting: he usually makes a sketch and goes directly to the workshop to make 1:1 mock ups and prototypes. He then uses his background as a cabinet maker to prepare each piece himself before going into production.

We do Wood creates honest, environmentally friendly furniture with a very personal and thoughtful approach to design.
