3 Days of Design 2021
We were kindly hosted by Ferm Living who have a very impressive 'home' situated in Kuglegarden. It houses their showroom, boutique and full team all within one building so very much a Ferm household. It is a beautiful set up showcasing their newness for AW21 of 'seasonal treasures' which spilled out into their courtyard garden.

On arrival we joined Ferm's founder Trine Andersen who gave an inspiring talk about The Responsible Journey of Ferm Living and the steps they are taking to be more sustainable. This starts from their initial product design stage, their chosen materials through to their responsibility to their workers both in the making and selling of their products. How items need to be long lasting, recyclable and as a team continue to review their practices at every opportunity to ensure they are as responsible and sustainable as they can be. Trine reflected that being Responsible will never be a job that is ‘done’ or ‘completed’, instead a continuous mission for Ferm to adapt to the advancements and evolution of techniques, mindsets and working practices.
For AW21 you'll find a curated mix of objects perfect for gifting, as well as distinctive statement pieces for your home - we love the new Mineral Sculptural Table (below left) and Oyster Wall Lamp (below right).
Next we visited our friends at Muuto where they had the amazing new Connect Soft Modular Sofa on display (honestly it is like sitting on a cloud!) alongside our other new introduction - the Workshop Table 130 - pictured below with the Linear Table Lamp and Grain Pendant to create a modern home working space.
Another new Muuto favourite was also on display, the Loft Armchair pictured below in the new deep red frame, alongside it's sibling the Loft Chair and the Rime Pendant.
From here, we then headed into Hay's flagship store (below) which has recently undergone a top to bottom renovation, including 2 new floors serving as a boutique and new showroom space. They continue to inspire with their focus on introducing designs which blur the lines between art, fashion and architecture.
The next day we met with our long-standing design partner We Do Wood who were exhibiting their latest designs in the extraordinary space of Royal Labedarium (never usually open to the public).
Pictured below are two of our favourites, the Framed Hanger and of course the Nomad Chair which was one of the original designs we featured when we first met with the team back in 2016.
We then headed to the impressive residence of The Audo (below), a hybrid space uniting design, work and hospitality - yes there is even a series of hotel suites here! All kitted out with the latest work from Menu, Kolon, Dedar, Dux and By Lassen.
It's been so long since we've been able to meet with designers and see product in person that if felt really great to reconnect with old friends and new at 3 Days of Design. We also got the opportunity to see other fellow retailers along the way too (Earl of East, Lifestory, and Truce) which was such an added bonus and a reflection of how lucky we are to be part of such a supportive, design community.
